NAME: 木吉鉄平 • Teppei KiyoshiNICKNAME(S): Iron Heart AGE: 17 BIRTHDATE: June 10 ZODIAC: Gemini HAIR: Brown EYES: Brown HEIGHT: 6' 4" WEIGHT: 179 SEXUALITY: Heterosexual OCCUPATION: Student CANON: Kuroko no Basuke CANON POINT: chapter 251 + haven crau HISTORY: bloop. CLASS: 3-C LOCKER: #146 FRIENDS: ENEMIES: We are a team because we support each other.
Teppei arrived in Haven on the 15th of September (the ooc date to that was the 21st of June) he didn’t do much of anything the first month that he was in Haven other than mingle with as many people he could and explored as much as he could of the area Haven West. His first day there though, he quickly discovered that he wasn’t the only person who was here from home. But then again that would have been hard to miss since Kagami and Kuroko literally broke down his door the moment he came to in his temporarily permanent residence in Haven.
Things didn’t stay peaceful for long though. And as the next month quickly rolled around Teppei was thrown into an underground labyrinth. He, unfortunately woke up stranded from his teammates and was forced to walk around by himself. He did run into a few of his housemates, and even some new people, but he decided to continue on in search of his teammates. Whether it be the fact that he was older than them and technically their senpai, or that he genuinely cared for them isn’t clear as to what urged him to continue his search for them. He did, eventually find them. But it was too late. There was something in the air that completely enraged a small half of the people down in the labyrinth, whatever it was clouded their judgements and made them think that they needed to kill in order to survive. This didn’t effect Teppei himself, but, it did however affect Kagami. Kagami had gotten into a fight with someone that Kuroko had somehow stumbled upon. He knew that the other was acting strange so he had tried to break up the fight, but all that did was force Kagami to turn his attention to the other instead. It was too late for the both of them by the time Teppei showed up though, as the wounds they had both collected throughout their fight was more than enough to kill them both. The only thing Teppei could do was to make it comfortable for the both of them and stay behind to make sure that nothing else happened to their bodies. Teppei stayed till the very end and literally watched the light leave both Kagami’s and Kuroko’s eyes. His stay continued on for a little more down in the labyrinth before he later asphyxiated to death. He didn’t have much of a chance to leave the labyrinth since the only way out of there was if he had killed someone. Not like he would have anyway because he’s a kind hearted person, but he also saw both of his friends die before his eyes… so it was just not an option. Because he didn’t kill anyone and asphyxiated inside the labyrinth he woke up days later with the letter c branded on the left side of his cheek. After taking a few days to himself so he could cope quietly, he sought out both Kagami and Kuroko. He had a heart to heart with Kagami as the other finally managed to express his feelings on how quickly Teppei had given up and not thought to save himself as he had died. He had also advised Kagami (and Kuroko) on how he should approach the other and apologize for the way things had gone down in the labyrinth. Thankfully after that he was able to get back to a relatively quiet life. He mingled with more of the new comers and was able to strengthen the friendships he had made with his new found friends he had made before he found himself trapped in the labyrinth. He even got to meet a different basketball player from his home, Daiki Aomine. He had then made a vow to make sure that he would watch over and protect the other as well. Even if he wasn’t from his team he was someone from home. The month following that Teppei found himself waking up in a prison. It was probably one of the best things that could have happened to him honestly? Well for the first couple of days at least… He didn’t have to scrounge around for canned food, he didn’t have to wonder when the next time he’d be able to bathe again, and he was even able to play basketball with his new found friends! The reason as to why he wound up in prison was unclear though. But after being in Haven for a little you find yourself just rolling with the punches. Things started to get off on the wrong foot the moment they started carting people out for whatever reason. No one was sure why handfuls of people went missing, until they watched a live experimentation from the break room television. That was the first time he got to see Kite in all of his glory. He had heard the other talk thanks to the little message he left for them when they were trapped in the labyrinth. But actually getting to see him was completely different. And there he was reliving a nightmare again. He had to actually force himself away from the television so he could avoid seeing the horrible things he had done to the people on the television. And that was the moment when he had discovered that Kuroko had gone missing. He couldn’t even bring himself to watch the broadcast that evening because he knew what was already in store for his friend. But before he even had the chance to meet back up with Kuroko, he had found himself in that oh so familiar room, but he wasn’t alone. He was with two other people, three if you included Dr. Kite. The most foul-some human being known to man in Haven. He tortured them relentlessly and in the end managed to turn them into humanoid versions of mosquitoes. All for the sake of Uzumaki, whatever Uzumaki was. Teppei didn’t even have an inkling as to why people were being “sacrificed” to the great and wonderful Uzumaki. When Teppei came to next he was a bit confused as to where he was. It wasn’t your normal round of forgetfulness, he had no clue where Haven was. He had completely forgotten all the memories he had of Haven. He had no idea who everyone was save for Kuroko. (Aomine and Kagami were elsewhere while he and Kuroko where stuck inside the prison.) By that time though a riot had started and guards had taken to openly shoot everyone who had tried to escape and fight back against them. They made it back to Haven West, but Teppei was never the same afterwards. With everything that had happened to him and his friends coupled with the fact that he had completely forgotten his memories of this place drove him to depression. He slept on the couch in the little house he had shared with eleven other people. It took a lot of nudging from his friends from home and the friends he had made in Haven to get him back on his feet. He also makes it a point to apologize to all the friends who were with him at the prison when he had forgotten who they were after he had recovered from being sacrificed to the Uzumaki. He also starts trying to get back into the habit of doing things like working out. He even decides to try something new and picks up some herbology for medicinal purposes. He later meets back up with Kagami and discovered that despite being from the middle of the game with Rakuzan that they end up winning the Winter Cup. And that’s not the only news he discovers, he also finds out that he goes to America after the match to go through surgery for his knee. Shortly after that last thing that happens to Teppei would be him being trapped in a part of the collapsed portion of his room he had been in and dying for the third and last time. So when he comes to here in Inugami, Teppei will be under the impression that he’s still in Haven and that the reason why everything looks different is because the Yao Corporation (a group that is the main reason as to why he and everyone else has suffered as much as they have, and really the reason why he and the others are trapped inside Haven) decided to renovate the place up. It’s happened before with the housing units apparently, so Teppei won’t doubt that they decided to do this now. If their hearts get fragile, I'll become their support.
Teppei Kiyoshi is the biggest basketball loving junkie you will ever set your eyes on. But beneath that dumb yet goofy basketball loving exterior, is a very kind and gentle man who just has an overbearing passion for the sport. No one is as dedicated to the sport as Teppei is. His determination to help build a team up from the ground and set its foundations is extremely noteworthy as well. Since he's on the same competitive level as the Generation of Miracles (a group that consists of five students who are a year younger than he is and are on a professional playing level) he could have gone to any high school that he wanted to. But, because he lives with his grandparents, he decided to go to a no-name school that was a lot closer to where they lived so it would be easier on them. When he was asked why he decided to come to Seirin instead of going to a school with an elite team he said: that as long as basketball is fun it doesn't really matter where he goes, and that devoting yourself to something is showing that you really enjoy it.
He's very persistent and when he wants to get something done, or to persuade someone, he will work very hard to achieve his goal(s). This is shown when he continuously asks Hyuuga to join the team he's forming at Seirin. He relentlessly asks the other despite getting turned down just as quickly as he asks him. His work ethic is tremendous too. Because of his strong will and dedication he is known as the Iron Heart in the basketball sporting world. Though, he honestly doesn't really like this nickname.... He will stake everything he has for the sport, even if it means ruining his own future with the sport. He's also extremely good at masking his pain and hiding it from his friends. During the Interhigh competition he sustained a knee injury towards the end of the game against Kirisaki Daiichi. Despite having to be taken to the hospital he told them all that it wasn't a serious injury and that he would be back in time for their next game. That of course, was all a lie, and he confided to Junpei Hyuuga (the captain and dear friend) that he wouldn't be able to play with them at all for the rest of his high school career if he took the corrective surgery. He then made a promise to Hyuuga that he would recover and help them get back on their track to being number one in Japan. His teammates mean the world to him though, and he will do whatever it is to help support them. Whether they're in trouble or being threatened he will take on the entire damage by himself. This is especially evident when the team faces Kirisaki Daiichi again in the Winter Cup. He takes the brunt force of the team's foul play by himself just so he doesn't have to watch his team get hurt. When one of the first years falls sick he takes their place when they go to play streetball. He also helps Kuroko figure out where he stands on the team and with his own friendship with Kagami. Even if he doesn't directly tell him, he lets the other figure it out on his own. At first glance Teppei can definitely come off dimwitted and a little bit air headed. But there is more to that than meets the eye. He does have his gullible moments though. There was the time where he literally thought that Kagami was a script writer for a play or a television show at one point; and then there was another time where he almost thought that Kagami's head would actually cave in from the pressure of patting his head too hard during their match against Yosen. When he got released from the hospital he showed up in his jersey because he was so excited to be back. He even wore his house slippers when he was playing one-on-one against Kagami to see who could play for the ace position. He is intelligent though, in his own unique kind of way of course, and often times gives the most straightforward advice ever. He can, however, be very sneaky and sly when he wants to. During the match against Yosen he deliberately provokes Murasakibara by saying things that the other hates (saying how much fun the sport is and that he loves playing just for the fun of it) just so he could put his all into the game. Before the team was founded he challenges Hyuuga into playing one-on-one against him so he could get the other to realize how much he loves the sport. He wanted to make the other realize that he could still have fun and that playing with a team would help re-spark his love for the sport. He's very humble too. Instead of rubbing his victory in Murasakibara's face he thanks him for the match, and then proceeds to tell him that he looks forward to playing against the other in the future. The same could also be said about his confrontation with Hanami (someone who plays in Kirisaki Daiichi), but he knows that the other was expecting a negative reaction out of him. So he instead chooses to take the high road, so to speak, and thanks him for the match as well. He basically kills the other with kindness and he knows that this type of reaction, a positive and humble reaction, would agitate him more than. He also apologizes to one of the team members in Kaijou for not partaking in the practice match Seirin had at the beginning of the school year. Even though he couldn't physically help that since he was still in the hospital at the time. Teppei has a... very interesting relationship with captain Junpei Hyuuga. They have a push and shove friendship and are almost at a constant state of bickering. More so with Hyuuga than Teppei. That mostly has to do with Teppei's gentle nature and how he'll let someone run him over. Hyuuga also constantly reminds Teppei how much he hates the other too. Teppei however, sees through all that and knows that Hyuuga does care for him. Even though he basically created the team, he suggests Hyuuga would be better suited as captain than he would. He respects the other's calls and decisions, because he knows that Hyuuga cares about the sport just as much as he does. Even though he has a very.... roundabout way of showing it. When they do get into tiffs it's usually over nothing very serious. At one point during their match against Rakuzan they get into a little argument. Kagami expresses his concern over it, but Izuki tells him that it's nothing to worry about since they're able to keep their heads in the game and play off each other professionally. If they're threatened, I'll become their shield.
I don’t want to say that Teppei’s personality changes drastically, because it’s not like it goes a complete 360? If anything I’d say that it goes 180. He’s still has his air headed moments, and is very kind and thoughtful to everyone around him. He definitely wants to protect everyone he becomes friends with though, so that much hasn’t changed. In fact if anything else the urge he has has gotten pretty stronger now after being in Haven for six months. But he has become a little bit more skeptical about things though. He’s not as trusting as he used to be, he knows that there are people who are out there who could really hurt him if they so chose to. He doesn’t need to be told to be cautious anymore because he’s lived through enough pain for a life time.
The fact that he’s so fiercely protective over his friends is because he doesn’t want to see any of them get hurt anymore. He doesn’t want to see the life leave his friends eyes anymore, he doesn’t want to see them try to shoulder the heavy burden that evil corporation Yao has inflicted upon everyone. Yes he has his moments of depression, but he’d never show that in front of anyone. He’s always been the type to keep everything to himself, that part of him hasn’t changed and it most likely will never change. If anything I guess I would have to say that the major change Teppei has taken after being in Haven for a while is the fact that he gets depressed more easily. I’m positive he has some form of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and the anxiety as well. He only gets this way when he doesn’t know where his friends are, or what’s happening was caused from everything he had to deal with. He panics more when he can’t get in touch with someone he knows and is already assuming and thinking of the worst things imaginable. He never used to be like this before, but Haven changed the positive part about him, and he absolutely hates it. He hates the crippling feeling he gets when he knows that he can’t do anything for his friends when they’re in need. Before he would definitely know what to do in order to help whoever it was overcome the sadness. But now? Knowing everything he knows it’s… well, it’s hard. It’s hard trying to fix others when he can’t really fix the ongoing issues he himself has. I'll sacrifice myself any day to protect everyone.
Teppei is a very skilled basketball player and is very knowledgeable with the sport. He's a part of the Uncrowned Kings; which is basically a term that was used to describe five players who were almost as strong as the Generation of Miracles. In fact, had they been born a year later they could have shaken things up immensely in the sporting world. And that's saying something since the Generation of Miracles are probably on par to professional basketball players.
Statistically speaking Teppei ranks an 8/10 in physical/special abilities and technique, a 6/10 in stamina, and a perfect 10/10 in mental strength. So he's very fit and can persevere in the heat of a match. This is, of course, not including when his old injuries get in the way. But he will do his best and put everything into the game until he physically can't do anything anymore. But, he's extremely durable as shown when he took the brunt force of all the constant foul play that was thrown at Seirin in their match against Kirisaki Daiichi. He was able to play through the first half of the game and part of the third quarter until his body couldn't physically take it anymore. As a player Teppei possesses a very unique style when it comes to playing basketball. He's described as an odd ball center that possesses the pass sense of a point guard. His main position on the team is a Center (who's primary job in basketball is to stand underneath the basket for dunks and rebonds) but he originally wanted to play as a Point Guard (who's primary job is the complete opposite of a center as they are the furthest away from the basket). Originally he was going to play as center until a teammate suggested that he play both, and that it would be like supervising from underneath the basket. He's played both positions in the match against Yosen, which shows that he's a very versatile player. As far as actual basketball skills go, Teppei has two special skills he's known for. The right of postponement and his vice claw. Teppei has abnormally huge hands, which gives him a great advantage for playing basketball. He basically has the ability to hold the ball with one hand, which helps him whenever he gets into a tight spot or if someone jumps to block a shot. And with that, he can change the course of his actions at the last section. So if he were aiming to shoot but someone jumped to block him, he could turn his hand and toss the ball behind him or to the side at one of his teammates instead. This sort of play makes him extremely unpredictable when he's handling the ball and he has tricked many a players with this right of postponement. The vice claw basically allows Teppei to grab the ball more easily when he's jumping for a rebound. NOBODY CAN SAVE YOU NOW KING IS CROWN, IT'S DO OR DIE.
